SBIR Topic: AF233-0002 — Power Efficient Digital Binocular Night Vision Imaging System (PEDBNVIS) · Sponsor: U.S. Air Force · Phase I complete

Digital night vision promises what analog tubes cannot (fusion, overlays, recording), but historically at a steep power and weight cost. PEDBNVIS set out to put that capability into a power-efficient, wearable binocular.

Our Approach

With Alwyn Smith as Chief Engineer, our team led hardware and embedded-systems integration of a digital binocular night-vision aid combining low-light and SWIR sensing, high-resolution displays, and low-power electronics. They drove the design trades in sensor fusion, SWaP reduction, thermal management, and wearable integration.

Capabilities Demonstrated

Night vision, low-power EO systems, sensor fusion, AR overlays, and wearable operator technology.
