DMARS: Digital Multisensory Augmented Reality for Special Warfare

DMARS helmet-mounted system design

SBIR Topic: AF224-0008 — Digital Multisensory Augmented Reality for Special Warfare (DMARS) · Sponsor: U.S. Air Force · Phase I complete

Operators in complex environments benefit from information layered onto what they see, but only if the overlay is fast, legible, and built on real sensing. DMARS is a multispectral augmented-reality and head-mounted-display effort for special-warfare situational awareness.

Our Approach

With Alwyn Smith as Chief Engineer, our team led the multisensor system architecture: sensor trade studies, processor-interface requirements, packaging, datapath, power, and integration planning with ATAK. This work laid the foundation for a Phase II prototype.

Capabilities Demonstrated

AR/HMD systems, multispectral sensor fusion, low-SWaP display integration, and operator-facing interfaces.
