SBIR Topic: A244-011 — Off the Visor Heads Up Display (HUD) · Sponsor: U.S. Army · Phase I complete

Getting the right information in front of a dismounted soldier, without taking their eyes off the world, is a hard optical and human-factors problem. OTV-HUD explored see-through heads-up display concepts for ground-soldier visual augmentation.

Our Approach

With Alwyn Smith as Chief Engineer, our team led the integration that turned optical-display concepts into head-worn hardware. That meant resolving mechanical, electrical, mounting, power, alignment, and ruggedization requirements, and working the trades between field of view, eye box, weight, and helmet mounting.
